Elastography is an outpatient study , which consists of an ultrasound technique that measures the stiffness of the liver and allows the degree of fibrosis to be established. It is performed with specialized equipment that, in addition to ultrasound images, measures the degree of stiffness inside the liver by means of a specialized transducer. It is indicated to measure liver involvement in chronic diseases and fat deposits in the liver (fatty liver).
