Endoscopic ultrasound or endoscopic ultrasound

Endoscopic ultrasound is an outpatient procedure performed under sedation that combines conventional endoscopy with ultrasound, using an endoscope that has an ultrasound transducer located at the end of the equipment, which allows the ultrasound evaluation of internal organs, both the walls of the digestive tract and the neighboring organs around them.
The main application of endoscopic ultrasound is to evaluate the presence of masses, tumors or images of defects in the walls of the digestive tract and neighboring organs.

Due to the specialization of the procedure, its implementation requires that the professional who performs it have specific training for it.
You may drink fluids up to six hours before the exam.
